Kazmir still on fire

RHP Scott Kazmir had another fantastic outing yesterday delivering 111 pitches, zero walks and eight strikeouts to kick off a home stand against the Boston Red Sox. The team is currently on a three game winning streak that began in Game Two of the series with the Rangers on Tuesday.

“I feel like I’m able to throw any one of my pitches at any given time in any count,” Kazmir said. “I have a lot of confidence. I felt good today. Probably one of the best I felt this year.”

Game two of the four game stand begins tonight at 9:05 tonight.  Great seats and cheap tickets are still available!

O’Flaherty inks $7 million deal

Respected left handed pitcher Eric O’Flaherty has agreed to a two year seven million dollar contract.   O’Flaherty suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament last season while with  Atlanta. In 19 appearances with the Braves, O’Flaherty went 3-0 with a 2.50 ERA before undergoing elbow ligament replacement surgery.

“He’s been one of the best left-handers in the game over the last three years and proven he can pitch anywhere, including toward the end of the game,” Assistant GM David Forst said.
